Birth Anniversary of Munshi Premchand 2026

The Birth Anniversary of Munshi Premchand is observed every year on 31 July to honor one of India’s greatest literary icons and pioneers of modern Hindi and Urdu literature. In 2026, the occasion will be celebrated on 31 July 2026. Popularly known as the “Upanyas Samrat” (Emperor of Novels), Munshi Premchand is remembered for his realistic portrayal of Indian society, especially the lives of farmers, laborers, women, and marginalized communities.
